Abstract	On December 15th, 2013, died Vladimir Alexandrovich Yakubsky (born 01.23.1924), doctor of historical sciences, professor emeritus of St. Petersburg State University, one of the prominent Russian specialists in Slavic history, whose research and teaching activity since 1952 had been inseparably linked with the Faculty of History of St. Petersburg State University.
