Abstract The article summarizes results of fi eld expedition in Pscov district (august, 2011). Its aim was to fi nd the place of negotiations between the Polish–Lithuanian delegation, headed by Papal legate Antonio Possevino, and the group of Russian diplomats, headed by prince Dmitry Eletsky, in December 1581 – January 1582. Having analyzed Passivino’s travel writings, ambassadorial documents as well as fi eld expedition’s results and oral history inquiries of the local public, the authors reconsidered the historiographic standpoint on location of the village “Kiverova gorka” (the mountain Kiverova), where the negotiations had been held, and suggested several new ideas.
